MOT Testing

An MOT is the annual test that most vehicles over three years old need by law. It checks that a vehicle meets the minimum road safety and environmental standards on the day it is tested.

The test covers lights, steering and suspension, brakes, tyres and wheels, seat belts, the body and structure, the exhaust and emissions, the windscreen and wipers, and the horn. It is not a check of engine, clutch or gearbox condition, and it is not a substitute for servicing.
